By the early 19th century, Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland was already celebrated for its stunning mountain scenery. Renowned figures such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Felix Mendelssohn journeyed through these breathtaking landscapes, leaving inspired by their beauty.
